The Great Sheffield Cake Off! – Sheffield City College, 8 March
Loosely based off the show we all know and love, The Great Sheffield Cake off will take place on 8 March at Sheffield City College to raise funds for The Cathedral Archer project. Presented by former Great British Bake Off contestant Howard Middleton, the evening will see four amateur bakers from Sheffield City College compete for the title of Sheffield’s Best Baker. Tickets cost £7.50 and include entry to the event along with free refreshments and delicious homemade cakes.
The Amy Winehouse Experience… aka Lioness – 02 Academy Sheffield, 10 March
Lioness provide an authentic tribute to the infamous talent that was Amy Winehouse. Accompanied by a full seven piece band of hand-picked musicians, ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ finalist Emma Wright flawlessly recreates the authentic sound that was so unique to Ms Winehouse. With a full stage show showcasing the talent of the songstress, The Amy Winehouse Experience is emotional roller coaster that is guaranteed to have you singing and dancing along throughout the performance.
BeerAlive! – iceSheffield, 17 -19 March
For the first time ever, a massive pop-up beer hall called BeerAlive! will open to the public from 17-19 March as part of the national beer and brewing event run by the Society for Independent Brewers (SIBA). The beer hall will be fully heated and lit, and will feature eight regional bars serving SIBA gold award-winning cask and keg beers. A must-go for any beer lover, SIBA operations director Nick Stafford said: “This really is the best selection of independent craft beers you’ll find anywhere in the UK.”
Art workshops and taster sessions – The Art House
Want to mix up your weekend and try something new? Throughout the March and April The Art House are hosting a number of adult art workshops and taster sessions. Whether you want to learn how to print onto fabrics, or fancy spending the day learning how to do a life drawing, The Art House is the perfect place for anyone wishing to inject a bit of creativity into their life.
The Rum Festival – Trafalgar Warehouse 31 March – 1 April
